More Work at the Rodd Umlauf Gallery...

I love the vivid color in this bracelet. You'll probably be seeing more of this in varying themes. The red beads are all glass beads made by me with silver glass scroll work. The blue beads are chunky Lapis, Fossilized Agate, and Kyanite disks with some Sterling beads.

Canape' set  in silvered ivory with silver plum decoration. These pair up nicely with Kathy Mitchel's pottery serving trays also at the Gallery.

Sterling wire worked ear wires with silver glass bead disks and Fine Silver spirals all softly oxidezed to a light gold.

More Big Hole Beads....

Now that I've got this tool figured out on how to silver core my glass beads, I've been practicing quite a bit. This top bead is called a "Wave Bead" . Very fun to make. This one is made from silver glass, so it turns a few different colors.

This one has a base of clear with some added silver leaf and glass frit which helps to create the webbing effect.

Several colors of Violet frit are in this one.

A base of Topaz with some silver glass frit.

Can you tell I love the ones with glass frit?

This one has a base of steel green with a twistie.

This one was very hard to photograph so this is the second go round and it came out better than the first one. This is a special blend of glass frit that even has a bit of goldstone in it. It's very different.

More BHB's

Here are a few more of the Big Hole Beads...

Amber with Fine Silver dots.

A deep black with silver leaf heavily encased with clear for a little magnification. It makes me think of the universe.

Cobalt with silver glass frit encased in clear.

And Amythest with some Fine Silver mesh also encased in clear,.

New Big Hole Beads with Silver core linings...

Just a short post this morning, of the new BHB (Big Hole Beads) I finally finished. These beads are commonly used in the Troll or Pandora bracelets and will fit either. I had to purchase a special coring tool and then learn how to use it, but now I feel like a pro. I have more beads but I need to take the time to read the book on my new camera as well before I take more photos. ( It's pretty sweet) . This bead happens to be a combination of 2 silver glasses and silver leaf with a clear encasement.

Dog Days in the Leap Day Storm

This isn't exactly glass or jewelry related but a new puppy has arrived in our household and I just had to share photos of playtime in the snow. It seems Winter decided to descend afterall and we had 18" of snow overnight. We now have 30" on the ground, so things were suspended for the day, my husband couldn't get to the Clinic, he barely made it out of the garage before getting stuck. Many local businesses closed and the DOT warned everyone to remain at home due to the amount of snow, until they could get things plowed. But in the meantime these little guys had their fun in the snow. Meet our new addition, Emmet

 Come on Mick let's play!

Love those flying ears!

Oh and this gives you a bit of an idea of how much snow we got!

More Oak Leaves

I thought since I had the cabinet doors from the kitchen of my friend Jean, I should probably put up the 5 foot window that graces her entry on one side and provides some extra light in a hallway on the other side. IT has the same Oak leaves  only in a seedy amber glass and the wonderful swirly Baroque glass. Once you start in on a sheet of Baroque for a window like this , you can't make a mistake or you have to start over. You need to keep that continuous swirl pattern intact. Lucky for me , the glass gods were smiling that day!

Oak Leaf Cabinet Doors

A few photos of some cabinet doors I did for my friend Jean. The first two are backlit and the bottom photos are in regular light to show off the swirls of the beautiful Baroque clear glass.
